I actually had more than this but I have given some away as gifts. In total, I had about 23 or so to begin with and I've only been collecting them for about 3-4 years. It's very easy to find "knock-offs" of these but you can easily tell by the weight and color. These little statues are actually pretty heavy because they are filled with sand and at the bottom they have a rubber stopper and are felt-lined. Also, on the back they will have the year stamp and the Russ Berrie & Co. logo.
I can't wait to keep finding more of these funny little guys to add to my collection!

| These three and the pic below are my favorites. |

| I believe the first one is a "Paula" brand figurine that was a similar kind also from the 70s. You can tell by the thicker base. |

awww those are so cute! Yay for shoping thrift, awesome.
ReplyDeleteI think you are the only person I know that likes these things lol. Now I will think of you every time I see one. It's a shame they are hefty (and that shipping prices are going up AGAIN) otherwise they'd be shuttled your way
ReplyDeletethose are adorable, i never had a collection in my life, it's one of my resolutions tho :)
ReplyDeleteI used to have some of these when I was a kid! Sadly, I got rid of them a long long time ago. I definitely had a "I love you this much" one.
ReplyDeleteLove them!

Oh my god, what a great collection! I've seen one or two of these figurines at my grandma's. I didn't know exactly what they were, but I've since seen them at many a thrift store and just assumed they were like the Precious Moments of the 70s.
ReplyDeleteOh my, these are so cute! I've never seen one of these from where I live. :P I actually like this segment of your blog. I would love to know more about what you collect because in my mind, I think you really have a lot! :P
ReplyDeleteI have seen these before, but I don't have any myself. There's a good chance that my grandma (the hoarding one) has a couple. I am amused by the "I'm Sorry" one. WHY IS IT STILL HAPPY LOOKING? haha
ReplyDeleteMy mom has a few of these!
ReplyDeleteI don't know whether to find them completely adorable or be creeped out by them, haha, but I'm creeped out by dolls in general. I really love those sayings though. So cute. xo
ReplyDeleteSuch a neat collection! I am pretty sure my mom has a knock off on our piano. The "I think you are nice" one is just too sweet!! :]
ReplyDeletewhat an awesome collection! i esp love the "i love you but may not show it"... so me these days.
